Like many final seasons, Ozark season 4 was split into two halves. The first seven episodes premiered on January 21, 2022, and were a hit for Netflix, garnering a 90% critics and audience score and racking up 4 billion minutes' worth of streams in its first week. The series final seven episodes dropped on the streaming platform on April 29, 2022. If Ozark season 4 part 2 does better than part one—and it likely will—the series could usurp Bridgerton season 2’s current spot in Netflix's weekly Top 10 chart. That said, Bateman wants to thank fans for helping make Ozark one of streaming’s most memorable series.

Bateman’s co-star Skylar Gaertner, who plays his on-screen son Jonah, commented on the post along with droves of fans who have appreciated the anxiety-inducing ride. Ozark has become a critical darling, earning a slew of Emmy nominations and wins, including Bateman for Outstanding Directing for a Drama in 2019. The series’ first two seasons are its lowest rating on sites like Rotten Tomatoes, with reviewers often citing its “potential.” In the wake of game-changing crime dramas like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, Ozark was judged by an almost impossible standard. And, it’s safe to say Bateman and company have risen to the occasion. However, now they have the equally impossible task of ending it in a way that satisfies fans.

Bateman’s ever-calculated surrogate, Marty Byrde, is right up there with Tony Soprano and Walter White as one of television’s most fascinating anti-heroes. As was the case with the latter pair, audiences had been hotly anticipating to see how things played out for the Brydes and Ruth in Ozark's final episodes. TV series often have trouble sticking the landing, but it's clear that regardless of fan reception, Bateman is thankful for all the love the series has gotten in the last few years.
